It's
with a great deal of sentiment that I bring you an up date on our
only Pro Heavy Weight boxer Darren Chubbs as Darren was my first interview
in Bartons corner.
Since
turning Pro Darren has had 5 fights winning the first 4 loosing his last
outing to Mark Krence ranked 14 on points 39/38 at Everton Park.
Darren
went on to say I am not making any excuses on the night I lost I would
admit to switching off in the last round witch cost me the fight. I am
looking for a rematch this time over 6 rounds.
So
I asked him what were his plans, at the moment I am taking it easy for a
couple of weeks before getting back in the gym, he continued that his
manager Brenden Divine was in a contract disagreement with Match Room so
hopefully the stable can sort its differences out get me a rematch with Mark
Krence and then a fight with a top ten fighter maybe Pele Read.
Since
my last interview with Darren he has had great reviews in the Boxing
circles and he is still making steady progress through the rankings now
ranked 20 in Britain he is a very promising heavy weight and I still
think with a bit of luck Darren could go the distance so as I do I'm sure
Southport wishes you well in your quest for a British Title. |
