Move More
Make
it a daily challenge to find ways to move your body. Climb stairs if given
a choice between that and escalators or elevators. Walk your dog, chase
your kids, mow the lawn. You don't have to do a 45 minute Gym workout or a
kickboxing session. But they are great when your up to it.

Cut Fat
Avoid
Fried foods, burgers, chips and fatty meats such as: pork, bacon, ham,
sausage etc. Eat low fat versions of dairy products i.e. cheese, milk,
cottage cheese and cream. Butter, margarine and mayonnaise should be eaten
in limited amounts.

Quit Smoking
There
is no doubt that smoking is seriously bad for you health. It is just a
fact that it increases your risk of Heart disease and Lung Cancer.

Reduce Stress
You
can reduce stress in many ways, spend 30 minutes a day doing something you
enjoy and that relaxes you i.e. take a walk, soak in the bath, chill out
listening to a favourite CD or get a massage. Try taking up an activity
like Tai Chi or Yoga if you recognise that you particularly suffer from
stress.

Protect yourself from pollution
Avoid
smoke filled rooms, high traffic areas, if you go for a cycle ride head
for more rural areas rather than towns.

Wear Your Seat Belt
Statistics
show that seat belts add to longevity and help to alleviate potential
injuries in car crashes.

Floss your teeth
Recent
studies make a direct connection between longevity and teeth flossing.
Nobody knows exactly why. Perhaps its because people who floss tend to be
more health conscious than people who don't?

Avoid Excessive Drinking
While
recent studies show a glass of wine or one drink a day (two for men) can
help protect against heart disease, more than that can cause other health
problems such as liver and kidney disease and cancer.

Keep a positive Mental Outlook
There's
a definitive connection between living well and healthfully and having a
cheerful outlook on life. " Don't worry be Happy"

Don't Over do it
Take
time out to rest properly, It is just as important to rest as is it to
exercise. It is quite easy to burn yourself out.
